Catholic apologist to speak at annual banquet

Special to The Hays Daily News

John Martignoni, a Catholic apologist will be the featured speaker at Divine Mercy Radio's third annual appreciation banquet, with a social beginning at 6 p.m., Sept. 7 at the Fanchon Ballroom, 2250 E. Eighth. He can be heard on 88.1 FM at 2 p.m. Mondays on Open Line.

Martignoni was working on his doctorate degree when he came across a book by C. S. Lewis titled, "Mere Christianity." This inspired him to begin searching for truth, and the search was so strong he quit working on his doctorate degree.

"Does it matter if someone is Catholic, or Baptist, or Evangelical, or Church of God, or whatever ... as long as they're Christian?  Who really cares?" John Martignoni said in a promotional statement to Divine Mercy Radio. "Well, as it turns out, God cares."

His talk for the banquet is titled, "Does God want everyone to have truth?"

Tickets for the banquet are $25 and can be obtained at Divine Mercy Radio, 108 E. 12th, by calling (782) 621-4110 or emailing donetta@kvdm.org.

With the call letters KVDM, Divine Mercy Radio 88.1 FM broadcasts from Hays and can be heard in a 30-mile radius around Hays. They also can be heard online at KVDM.org.
