Eagles nab two more wins, 100th for Kelly

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. -- A pair of complete games led to two more wins in the Blue Springs, Mo., wood bat tournament Friday and Saturday for the Hays Eagles Legion baseball team.

Kade Parker, who recently signed with Barton Community College, tossed a shutout in a 4-0 Eagles win over Overland Park Post 338 on Friday.

Then, Cole Schumacher, a junior-to-be at Hays High School, tossed a complete game in the Eagles' 6-3 win against Ada, Okla., on Saturday morning.

The Saturday win was the the 100th in three seasons for Eagles head coach Brad Kelly, who has coached Hays to back-to-back Class AAA state championships the past two seasons.

The Eagles (26-8) are scheduled to wrap up the tournament today.

Hays will be at home for a pair of doubleheaders this week -- Tuesday against Salina and Thursday against Great Bend. Both doubleheaders begin at 6 p.m.
