Wife dead, husband wounded in Kansas shooting

VALLEY CENTER, Kan. (AP) -- A woman is dead and her husband is hospitalized after a shooting near the rural Sedgwick County town of Valley Center.

KAKE (http://bit.ly/19x8ZKo ) reports that the couple was rushed to a Wichita hospital in critical condition Friday night after they were found suffering from gunshot wounds to their heads.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's office said the woman died shortly after 4:30 p.m. Saturday. She was identified as 53-year-old Melissa Bluml.

There is no word yet on any arrests or a motive for the shooting.
