Get Ready for the Annual Fall Cleanup (begins Oct. 20th)
It’s time to get ready for the 2025 Annual Fall Cleanup, which the City announced last week will begin on Monday, October 20, 2025. The Annual Fall Cleanup consists of a single, comprehensive sweep through Hays, a popular city-wide service which provides residential customers with an opportunity to dispose of bulky items, excess refuse, and other large materials not collected during the regular weekly trash service.
New Oktoberfest Competition: "Battle of the Bierock"
Oktoberfest Hays 2025 will feature a new major addition, the inaugural "Battle of the Bierock" competition. The competition, which invites Oktoberfest vendors to vie for the title of "Best Bierock," is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

Free Kite Show expands to two days (Sept. 6th & 7th)
This weekend the Hays Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and Hays Recreation Commission (HRC) are hosting a two-day free Kite Show for the community. Back by popular demand for a fourth year, the Hays Prairie Winds Kite Show will feature the giant kite displays of Great American Kites & Events on both Saturday and Sunday, Sept.

CVB Executive Director Dixon noted that the Sternberg Museum of Natural History is hosting the traveling exhibition “Animal Armor” (by Gaston Designs) not just throughout the month of June, but also throughout the entire summer, closing on Sept.
