Get Ready for the Annual Fall Cleanup (begins Oct. 20th)

It’s time to get ready for the 2025 Annual Fall Cleanup, which the City announced last week will begin on Monday, October 20, 2025. The Annual Fall Cleanup consists of a single, comprehensive sweep through Hays, a popular city-wide service which provides residential customers with an opportunity to dispose of bulky items, excess refuse, and other large materials not collected during the regular weekly trash service.

Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Executive Director Melissa Dixon opened her remarks at June 3, 2025 Hays City Press Briefing by noting that several additions have been recently added to CVB website June Community Events Calendar and reminded residents that the most up-to-date, complete listing can be found at visithays.com. CVB Executive Director Dixon noted that the Sternberg Museum of Natural History is hosting the traveling exhibition “Animal Armor” (by Gaston Designs) not just throughout the month of June, but also throughout the entire summer, closing on Sept.

Summer Community Events kick into full swing this weekend

On May 22, 2025, Hays Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Executive Director Melissa Dixon encouraged City Commissioners and residents to welcome visitors this summer, especially the teams and families participating in tournaments at the Bickle-Schmidt Sports Complex. “The first tournament, the May 30 – June 1 USSSA Summer Blast Fastpitch Softball Tournament is expecting 45 teams.
